I was born and raised in Brisbane and have always had a passion for aged care after being so close to my Great grandparents growing up. As a young girl I would often tell people when I grew up I wanted to visit the elderly on the weekend and serve them tea and read magazines with them.
After finishing grade 12 I commenced my university studies in Social work however I quickly discovered this was not for me and decided I transfer to a double degree of Nursing and Paramedicine, after 4 years of study and countless placements during Covid 19 outbreaks I completed my degrees in 2021.
During this time I met my now husband Ryan who was born and grew up in Warwick and we decided to move back to his home town to continue our lives together which is when I applied for a registered Nursing position at Akooramak and have never looked back.
During my time at akooramak I have completed additional qualifications in infection control and prevention and immunisations and I’m dedicated to proving ongoing specialised care to our current and future residents as well as develop high standards of practice for our clinical staff while focusing on person centered care in conjunction with the aged care quality standards.
